Bourbon Sandwich Sauce
Dave | February 10, 2009If you like chicken sandwiches like I do, you also like variety. I like bourbon flavoring in my cooking, baking, and BBQ. This sandwich sauce is great for chicken sandwiches or subs, hot or cold. Try it out.
2/3 cups water
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon ketchup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon rubbed sage
2 tablespoons white vinegar
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1. Whisk together all ingredients except vinegar and lemon juice in a saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 minute until thick. Cool 10 minutes.
2. Stir in vinegar and lemon juice, then cover and chill for one hour.
You can use it on any type of chicken sandwich or sub that you want. It adds a really good flavor.
